<-------------During one of the Occupy Wall Street marches, projections of encouragement were spotted all over some of the city's buildings (mainly the Verizon building, which has never looked so good). The projections energized the protesters, and set a more celebratory mood for the night—the 2 month anniversary of the movement. The projections could be seen from very far away, sort of like the Bat Signal, and transmitted messages like: It Is The Beginning Of The Beginning, Look Around, You Are Part Of A Global Uprising, We Are Unstoppable, Another World Is Possible, 99%, Mic Check!, Occupy Earth, Occupy Wall Street, and so on—you can see it in action in the video. |

you live streaming video coverage from independent journalists on the
ground at nonviolent protests around the world. |
| During protests in Warsaw last weekend, one crafty activist deployed a flying drone to spy on riot police. YouTube user latajacakamera — or “flying camera” in Polish — uploaded the amazing video that the drone effortlessly captured as it hovered over teargas-filled streets. In another video, the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) floats in front of a formation of police in riot gear as they rush towards demonstrators. None of them appear to notice. Wired editor-in-chief Chris Anderson confirmed that the flying machine was built by the Polish company Robokopter. Watch this video from latajacakamera, uploaded to YouTube Nov. 12, 2011. | |
| Still, what happened Friday on the campus of the University of California Davis has struck a chord. In a demonstration of support for the Occupy movement, a small group of protesters was sitting, arms linked together. Campus police told them to move. The students didn't. And that's when an officer walked down the line of seated men and women, pepper-spraying them. Some took it straight in their faces. Many of the several hundred others who were there screamed in terror and frustration. A video of the incident has been viewed more than half a million times so far and has spread the story. | |
| There's a second video related to the above story that we want to share. In some ways it's more powerful than the one that's been going viral. On Saturday, after a news conference she held, Katehi remained inside one of the university's buildings for a couple hours. Outside, protesters regrouped. And when she emerged, there was one of the most amazing scenes so far related to the Occupy movement. As Katehi and another woman walked three blocks to an SUV, they passed through a gauntlet of several hundred students — who remained silent in a powerful show of their disdain. | |
| BREAKING:
Occupy Protesters Walk 230 Miles From New York To DC. On November 23, the so-called “Super Committee” in Congress will decide on the future of America’s middle class – and whether it will stand with the 99% or the 1%. So a group of everyday heroes from Occupy Wall Street embarked on an incredible journey. |
